Impressive wheel -- it certainly looks very nice. Would be nice to see the review posted in here (with the pics!) -- but very nice write up. Leather almost always feels better.  :)

What is the main difference between ESP and non ESP steering wheels? Clockspring? I've got my hands on some nice mk4 3-spoke leather steering wheels that I was going to swap in (using Cole's mk3 spline adapter trick) -- how can I tell if this will work? What's the risk of using a non-esp equipped wheel on an ESP system? -- broken wrist?

Clockspring definitely looks thicker on models with ESP. Not sure about airbags, could be some differences too. I kept my own airbag, but if you are replacing whole assembly, it shouldn't matter.

Question, how is the clock spring mounted, is it attached the the column or to the back of the wheel? Need to swap mine but I am afraid to mess the clock spring up as it is expensive...

It sits on a steering column. If you are replacing the wheel with the same model and keep your original airbag, it should be pretty easy swap, just be careful with airbag connector.
