Not a build- I thought about doing one, but I don't have a place to do it and after looking at ones like I got, I could never do it as good.

Here is on a day trip with the motorcycles. My OSSA is near the rear of the van.

The Eurovan is gone (partial trade deal for a 2014 OSSA Factory R 300)

Look at the upper part of the metal bracket (closest to the front seats). There is a small lever there. I don't remember which way you move it.

4
Van is SOLD.
(Worked out a partial trade for a OSSA Factory 300i)

5
Selling my 2000 Eurovan MV

This model had the two rear facing (quick release/remove) bucket seats, fold up table and rear seat that converts to queen size bed. Very desirable.
Loads of fun. I averaged 23MPG

New cam chains, tensioners and guides.
New proper sparking plugs
Rebuilt drivers side inner Cv
New passenger axle (a few thousand miles)
Aux transmission cooler with thermostat
Transmission oil and filter change 6k miles ago
Transmission work perfectly
Fresh engine oil and filter change
Very good tyres
Fairly recently replaced rear brake pads
'House' battery with isolator.
New chassis battery
Hitch (just used for motorcycle carrier, not towing)
Factory privacy curtains (nice condition)
Tinted windows
More
226k miles
Ready to enjoy.

Will consider offers

(I bought a Sprinter conversion cam (airstream Interstate) so no longer need this. Runs great and I know of nothing wrong)

Westfalia / Re: Replacing an Underseat Battery on my Weekender

I would use an AGM - NOT gel.

Probably best to measure your battery, see the clearances, then get  what will fit.

I found the largest that fit (barely) for my MV (non-weekender)

VR6 Engine tech / Re: PSA: Check your chains!
« on: July 12, 2016, 06:04:23 pm »
Unless they pulled head I don't know how they can say the head is trashed.
I've seen bent valves In lots of engines and most of them were relatively easy to fix.
A tiny bend in one valve will pretty much drop the compression to nothing.

Now- it could be trashed. And maybe the VR6 engine tends to destroy the head with a bent valve. I don't know these engines  very well.

I need to do the chains on my 2000- just need to set aside enough time! (Flat rate is 17 hours)

This is how I haul my motorcycles.
About $70 from ebay, I did mod slightly to tighten the fit in the receiver- but it has a bolt setup to make it pretty snug anyway.
I added the LED taillamp strips.

My latest bike (made in Portugal)

General Discussion / New Eurovan spotted in the States
« on: July 03, 2016, 07:47:22 am »
I just saw a pretty new Eurovan (I not exactly sure what year, much newer than the 2003s)
Parked by my old workplace. ONP- Port Angeles

It had euro plates, I didn't see what country.
Looked darn nice- too bad we can't get them here.

I don't suppose anyone makes a silicone engine hose kit for these, do they?

Exterior / Re: Brake pad wear sensor (2000)
« on: February 21, 2016, 10:06:39 pm »
I moved stuff around and popped off the LR wheel
Me that is where the pad sensor is located in the rear (at least on mine)

Looks like the pad with the sensor is worn- caliper must be sticking since the outer is good.

Exterior / Brake pad wear sensor (2000)
« on: February 21, 2016, 05:07:04 pm »
The brake pad sensor lamp just came on with my 2000 Eurovan MV.

I looked at the left rear and both fronts.
Pad have loads left on them.

I have to move a bunch of motorcycles to get the left rear off.

Is that where the rear sensor is located?

That or the sensor is just flakey/rust shorting or something.

I'd try and look it up in the manual, but I hate finding things in that darn thing. Give me a paper manual any day.

Alvord desert. South central Oregon.

Started in Port Angeles
Over Snoqualime to Umatilla
Across NE Oregon to Idaho, then to C ity Of the Rocks (ID)
South into Utah, over to Nevada.
Up into Oregona and Fields, then Alvord Desert (saw a Eurovan camper staying at the same place)
Up to Burns,mOR, then across to Sisters,OR
Across a region Cascades- Salem, then then coast.
Stayed north of Astoria on the Washington coast.
then following the coast up,past Quinault, Sappho etc back to PA.

No issues witht he van (although after maybe 1800 miles I would get the occasional 'idle at limit' code.  Still working that one out)
