Yes. I used Yakima tracks and rack system.

This is the thread that Cole started about adding rails: http://www.cavevan.com/forum/index.php?topic=15.0

Very unfortunate for him. However, I'm glad that chapter is over for you and I'm glad to see your blog is public again. LOTS of good stuff in there!!!

We just got back from a trip to Glacier National Park (from Oregon). We had a good time. I only have one picture right now of the Eurovan in front of Lake McDonald. I'll try to add a few more pictures shortly.

I added a roof rack and shower to the van for the trip. Thanks to Lugboot for posting his shower idea and Cole (and many others) for posting helpful hints on the track install!

Great trip! You were in my part of the world for a while! I love Steens Mountains/Alvord Desert area.

Exterior / Re: Brake upgrade advice
« on: September 15, 2015, 12:27:12 pm »
I upgraded front only on my '99 to 2001-2003 brakes. I kept my '99 knuckles and just bolted on the larger rotors/calipers. This did require enlarging the caliper mounting hole in the '99 knuckles though.

Winnebago "Full Campers" / Re: Cavevan Lift Spacer/ New Tires
« on: September 09, 2015, 02:03:12 pm »
If you stick with the factory 16" tire size (225/60R16), you won't need a lift to clear them. I have upgraded to 16" wheels on my '99.

The Gowesty kit includes much more than just spacers. They include wheels, tires, shocks, etc.

Definitely has a unique look to it! I'm not a fan of that color but you made it look better VW did. :-)

What is going on with the passenger's side seat bracket? Almost looks like some pvc piping there........ it may just be a short nose thing that I'm not aware of. I haven't spent much time with a short nose.

Shiny things you no longer want / Short Nose Eurovan Bra
« on: August 20, 2015, 10:38:04 am »
I bought a bunch of parts. In that pile is a Colgan bra for a 96 and down Eurovan without fog lights. It's in great shape (I can get a picture later). My vans are late, long noses. I don't have a use for this. $20 plus shipping. Thanks!

Lugboot, thanks for sharing. I think I'm going to steal this idea.  ;D I have a question though, how did you seal the hose valve connection and the presta valve in the caps? Thanks!

Westfalia / Re: Yakima roof tracks on a Westfalia top.
« on: August 13, 2015, 02:17:02 pm »
Time to pull out a drill and do this to ours. I like GoWesty. Everything I have gotten from them has been nice. What I didn't expect was for them to be the cheapest! They want $350 for their kit. That's cheaper than REI, Rack Attack, etc. I just got an email back saying their kit includes 78" bars and 72" tracks. 72" tracks is LONG. Anyone used a rail that long?

I guess I need to put a tape measure on the top when I get home tonight.....
