Westfalia / Looking for 2002-2003 Weekender
« Last post by Adri4644 on September 04, 2020, 10:27:00 pm »
Hi all -

I'm new to the forum here. Looking for a 2002-2003 Eurovan Weekender camper. I live in San Francisco and just not finding many up here that have been well-maintained.

Any suggestions? I'm willing to consider looking at other states/cities on the west coast as well for the right one.

Not to bad it took about an hour and a half each side to do upper, lower, strut, tierod inner and outer, and bearings. The upper took most of the time because I did not have the proper puller i used hammer and sockets.

I suggest you look into the lithium replacement that GoWesty sells.  May require some additional management but may just drop in.

https://www.gowesty.com/product/electrical/25082/lifepo_aux_battery-50ah
I see that they are currently sold out.  The price was half of market for lithium.

Personally, I installed a battleborn 100 ah battery under the seat - but on it's side.  Took plenty of modification and costs $1,000 but lots more power.  The 50 ah lithium that GoWesty sells would still be quite an upgrade to the factory one.  And so cheap.  If they restock, it's a steal!

VR6 Engine tech / Re: Upgraded Alternator needs a pulley.

Fixed it by buying a replacement 90 amp alternator and using its pulley on the 120 Amp ACDelco alternator. It cost $180, but the Bosch pulley was $90 (that didn’t work) so I’m out $360......pain to deal with, but the van runs great now.

The Bosch Pulley only engages 2 threads.

Hello,
For my 2003 Eurovan, I got the
ACDELCO 3342595 {#88861861} Professional; Remanufactured; 120 Amp Info One of our most popular parts
Optional, w/ 120 amp alt.; Unit Mfr: Bosch; Amps: 120; Internal Fan; Internal Regulator; Clock: 1:30

It did not come with a pulley, The Bosch pulley only lets the nut catch the first 2 threats of the spindle.
Can anyone point me to toward the right pulley?

The Bosch pulley is the picture attached.
The I think the pulley I'm looking for is 7 channel and about 5 mm shorter than the Bosch:F4050765962OES

Westfalia / 01 Weekender drop in aux battery?
« Last post by thinkpad on July 27, 2020, 10:38:16 am »
Hi,

Can anyone recommend a drop in aux batter to run my under seat factory cooler box/fridge?  Looking for as high capacity as I can get - willing to do a little mod, but just want it easy.

Also - I need a couple of doors/panels for under the rear bench set.  Mine have broken tabs.  Any source or solutions please let me know.

Thanks!
