Idle control at limit error
« on: June 12, 2015, 05:44:27 pm »
I still have this- engine is running well, just replaced plugs/wires, air filter good, throttle body clean, no leaks I can find.

Does the idle controller (in throttle body from what I can tell) go bad very often on these?

Other places to look?

Usually that fault comes up when the throttle body cannot limit idle due to an air leak. If you have a good scan tool like VCDS (Vag-Com) you can do a throttle body reset and readiness code. You shouldn't have any air leaks if you don't have any lean faults. Sometimes other things like a/c when you turn it on taxes the engine and power steering when you go to full lock. If the throttle can't adjust the idle to a specified rpm it will throw that code.
If I'm not camping, I'm not happy.
