Title: Suburban furnace thermostat replacement?
Post by: albertr on June 22, 2015, 08:15:06 am
If you have replaced your stock thermostat, please share your experience.

Which make/model did you use as a replacement for original Suburban furnace thermostat in EVC?
Looking for something which allows more adjusting,  i.e. cycling rate (ON/OFF cutoff range for set temperature).

Thanks,

A new one from Amazon made my Suburban furnace cycle much less often - you can read about it here: http://1705.net/archives/612

Great, thanks! I'm wondering the newer ones (with back-light LCD screen) can be used too, for instance:

A few of the Amazon reviewers indicated that they are using them in RV's - looks pretty slick!

This one looks even smaller (3x5 inches): http://amzn.to/1JuArQo

I've already bought Honeywell TH1100DV1000  after reading all these positive reviews  ;D

Received it last week and size-wise it seem to fit just fine if mounted in the same spot as the original analog thermostat.
I didn't have a chance to test it yet since my furnace is out (have to fix its exhaust pipes which rusted out).

I replaced it with a tado smart thermostat (www.tado.com)
When it's at home, the bridge lives in the house and talks to the van.
Out and about the bridge is plugged into a small router in the van.  Means I can warm the van up remotely :)

Works without the bridge too, you just manually set with the buttons.
