Velocess, what are you using for a ramp to get the bike in there?  Or are you backing up to an elevated surface?  I assume you might carry something with you for unloading as well.  I want to do the same, but haven't figure out my ramp situation yet.

Westfalia / Re: Pop-Top Weather Seal Options

Probably not the best solution, but I used some silicone to keep the seal attached to the edge.  It's been that way for more than a year now and hasn't come off.  Mine was constantly slipping off at the front edge.  Especially when the top was popped.

I have lloyds mat in the back and it is too thick to roll the bed over.  I've thought about putting some spacers under the rear seat rails to raise it up for clearance, but haven't tried yet.  It's possible that the rear latches may not catch as well with the spacers.

Diesel Swap Tech and FAQ / Re: Engine Mounts

I'm still working on this still as well.  I think i'm going to try next, loosening the two smaller mount bolts on the forward mounts and the single larger rear bolt.  Start it up and hopefully it will vibrate to some sort of center happiness, then re-tighten.  This has been done of some motorcycles to some success.  I don't think its going to completely solve the vibrations, but it couldn't hurt.  I'm currently using the stock mounts for a 93 for all three.

Here's my version of the same in the same spot.  It's definitely good use for a useless ash tray.  The switch works the usb outlets, I can switch on and off a usb light that I have.

Diesel Swap Tech and FAQ / Re: Pedal Potentiometer

Yeah. You can see in my pictures that I've just got it dangling. I'm assuming it just needs to be cut to be pulled out.  My is still just looped up and tucked out of the way.  Post a picture up here too and we'll a good example thread of pot setups.  I'd like to see some pics of how some have set theirs up in the engine bays.

Here's my setup for reference.  Stock style pot bracket made by noiseybugger on the T4 forum and welded the top part of the my jetta donor pedal to the bottom half of my stock pedal.  The pedal picture is prewelded, using hose clamps to get the right height alignment.  Works good.

Here's the alternative picture on using the donor cars bracket to mount the pot.

Thanks.  I was having a tough time figuring out a replacement, because I couldn't find the part number.

24
You were right.  There's an oring in there.  Has a little chunk out of it.

Trumpet came off just fine with the rubber mallet.  Just had to hit it harder.  The wasn't a gasket in there.  Probably the reason for the leak.

26
Still no luck getting the trumpet off with my rubber mallet.  Time to get a dead blow hammer.

Great, I'll give it a try.  I've got a rubber mallet.  I should have asked before, but I haven't been able to find the gasket that goes in there.  I'm sure that's the cause of the leak.  From diagrams I've looked at, there is just a flat ring.  Is that gasket sold on it's own, or would have to be in a kit?  I must not have set my options to get emailed upon replies, so thanks for the quick responses, I just didn't see them till I just went in.

I've got my swap started and will add the link at the bottom.  Wish I would have built it here originally.  My real question though is about removing the extension arm from the transmission.  I've removed the 4 bolts and the speedo sensor.  The arm doesn't want to come off, at least easily.  Is there something else attached inside main housing that is holding it together?
