Turbo or Supercharging options?
« on: January 16, 2017, 12:04:21 pm »
I am thinking about buying a Eurovan to take the kids skiing, so lots of time in the mountains.  Though, I'm concerned that the vr6 might be challenged in the hills.  There are turbo kits for 12 and 24 valve vr6 engines.  Though, do they fit in the Eurovan?  The space looks really tight back there.

I'm not sure about fitment personally, but my gut reaction would be to advise against it.

The transmissions in these vans are quite fragile and expensive to service/replace. I don't know how it'd respond to the additional power.

I'm all about have fun/fast cars, but I think you are going down the wrong road here.  I've taken my van up and down the rockies several times.  No, you won't be passing any S4 Avants or WRXs on the way to the slopes, but I've never felt the need for more power.  The VR6 will cruise at 80 without too much of a problem.  I would worry about the impact on the transmission though.
