Westfalia / New Stereo who dis?

I finally wrapped up my stereo upgrade project in my 2003 Weekender. I went all in with the Pioneer AVH3300-NEX. This thing is awesome. It has Apple Car Play, and honestly it's way better than the setup in my new 2017 Subaru Forester. I also put in a backup camera and SiriusXM.
I had a little trouble with the backup camera. I have it spliced into the backup light wire under the dash, but it only triggers when I turn the car on, not when I shift into reverse. I then manually exit out of the camera once in drive. It's not a major deal, but obviously not the operational intent.
Also I currently have the SiriusXM receiver on the dash, which is not ideal. I'd like to run it out to the hood one day, but my van is silver, and this black receiver will stick out like a sore thumb. Does anyone know if it can be painted?
Lastly I ran the microphone on top of the steering column, and the USB input through that useless sunglasses holder.
