Made a little progress this weekend. First, 3/4" aluminum square tubes were glued to the rain gutters with two-component epoxy and fiberglass cloth to use them for panel support:

Solar panels were glued to  the plastic roof and alluminum support tubes with 3M 4000. Here's a shot of the first panel installed.
By the time I did all three of them, I got tired and forgot to take a final picture.

I'm second it. If anyone have any references, please let us know.

Power consumption of roof ceiling LED light and LED tube light are about the same (as per Fluke 376 meter). Since they are using the same technology, I would assume the light output is probably close between these two. I cannot compare to the original fluorescent tube since I threw away its ballast to trash. There's *NO* coming back after you tried these LED lights!

As far as color temperature goes, they all are spec'ed out to be around 3500K (warm white). They look close to me in the temperature, but If I'm trying to look *VERY* closely and carefully I can spot some small difference. Anyway, they are in "warm white" range, and I like it better that cold temperature of original  fluorescent tube. But personal preferences are very subjective, of course. Unfortunately, I don't have a meter to measure their true temperature.

The one I was looking at is #171805112044. Let me know if you end up buying it and parting it out...

Want to buy something? / Group buy for '97 EVC for parting it out?
« on: May 29, 2015, 11:20:10 am »
There's a high-mileage 1997 EVC available on ebay (from Massachusetts), seller wants $9.5K but open to offers. I have no connections to the seller, but would be interested in some parts from this vehicle.
If anyone is considering buying it for parting it out, please let me know.

Sorry for delay, went on a camping trip and actually had a chance to field-test it for three nights...  Here's a review:

Let me know what do you think.  If there is interest in this kit, I can get it for $60 (shipped within continental US), we will need to get at least ten kits ordered.

Thanks, that's really helpful! On your setup the 10' awning doesn't extend past the rear door, correct? It's not clear from the pictures, just want to make sure...

Exterior / Alluminum cargo carrier

Mini-review of my alluminum cargo carrier:

Yeah, I already played with epoxy and fiberglass on this van. Look at the last picture - the yellow spots on both sides of roof cargo carrier are molded aluminum plates reinforced with fiberglass and two-component epoxy. Worked out quite nicely, but I didn't bother to add a filler to match the color of original plastic.

***SOLD***

I have the EVC factory skylight I don't need anymore since I've replaced it with a Fan-tastic vent.
A few people are interested in it, so I'm considering putting in on Ebay so most interested person can get it.
Let me know what do you think.

It's a complete kit including both internal garnish and external pieces and all screws.

The rubber seal under the lid is still in great condition and is water-tight.
