SEM ROCK IT LINER COATING: this is the first spray with metallic flake mixed in the spray. they missed some parts because they ran out of spray. the second spray ,not pictured here, had the metallic flake removed from the spray thus rendering a flat black.

SEM ROCK IT LINER COATING: vw t4 sitting at the body shop with aftermarket bumpers. looks incomplete without the rocker panels . the bodykit in person dwarfs the factory 16" wheels.

I purchased a 2002 vw eurovan in San Francisco in 2012 from a used car dealership. upon returning to New England a year later i purchased a body kit from http://www.purecardesign.com/Bodykits/Bodykit-VW/Bodykit-VW-T4-SFL-96-03-Langer-Vorderwagen.html and had it shipped over from Germany. i then decided to have the van painted with http://www.semproducts.com/protective-coatings-truckbed-liners/rock-it-linertm-kits by a local body shop. the first spray resulted in patches of unevenness so they stripped it and reapplied. it still has light and dark patches.  while painting i asked them to fit the body kit. they fit the bumpers but said there was nowhere to mount the skirts on the rocker panels without self tapping screws. with new england weather they won't guarantee the skirts on the rocker against rust  with self tapping screws so i am looking to order these sidebars https://www.vwheritage.com/shop/t4-van/WC807104/side-bars-black-swb-60mm-steel-ssp-t4-90-03/?crumbStartPage=1&crumbStartRow=1 in place of the skirts to fill in the gap. they mount into existing holes in the chassis . no drilling. upon final inspection of the front bumper, it was so low that it wouldn't clear sidewalks or parking curbs. currently i use the van for work and to carry tools so maybe when i get a second vehicle ill reinstall the body kit. for now the body kit is painted and fitted and stored in the attic. i'm just going to throw up some pics and let it fly.

Tires and wheels! / wheel load rating
« on: December 05, 2015, 10:24:09 am »
i was wondering if they're were any suggestions on these wheels load ratings including full load capacity and or towing up to 3500 lbs. . in the links below i attached the manufacturers web page with suggested load ratings.the wheels are a bit "blingy" too me but its the closest style to AMG's i can find with the recommended size and fit. my eurovan is the vwt4 swb 7 passenger model minus the pop top. based on Cole's suggestions i was looking at the 18"x 8" x et42 wheels which are highlighted @ 1580lbs. load rating per wheel. i am welcome to any suggestions for retailers of AMG/AUDI wheels with the same measurements. what minimum wheel load rating should i be looking for? any info on what the 2001-2003 model year eurovan 5 spokes are rated at? that would be a good spectrum to gauge aftermarket wheels to.
