Title: All seats heated seats?

On our '99 we had a rough spot right in the lower center of the seat back that bothered me. It is below the cover so this weekend I took the cover off and found what look like seat heater pads. Our van doesn't have any controls for seat heaters. I'm wondering if seat heater pads were put in all seats and then controls added to just the vans spec'd with them? Anyone else find seat heaters in their seats?

Is there a connector under the seat?
I will check my 99, my 00 and 02 are heated. The heated seats are great.

There is not a connector under the seat. I didn't have time to fully disassemble the seat and see where the wire went. It stays in the seat at this point though.

I've added heated seats to several vans. There were not factory elements in them to start with.

I finally got around to opening up the seat. It does have a heater in it! Weird. Both front seats do. No wires up to the dash where the controls would be. The lead coming off the heater was just tucked up in the seat. It's a weird find. At least to me. :-)

Just wanted to chime in and say that if you wanted to retrofit the OEM seat heating knobs get the retrofit harness here: https://www.kufatec.de/shop/de/volkswagen/multivan-transporter/t4-7d/kabelsatz-sitzheizung-vw-t4-ab-bj.98

How about OEM heaters. As you can see, mine isn't very good......
