I'd love to hear more about this.

I've done quite a bit of research on it myself. Would love to come up with a solution to use on USA VR6 vans.

Here's the closest thing to a bolt up stock syncro trans for the VR6 / T4 I think you'll find but this will still require some custom work to mount and possibly/probably the driveaxles:

I don't think that this works any better than an 02M setup out of a Mk4 -- or from an R32 if you want AWD -- same offset angle issue between the output shaft and the bell-housing bolt pattern.

4motion though -- I sure like the idea of that.

Unfortunately that looks like a one off solution.

There have been successful manual transmission swaps here in the USA with domestically available (we think based on random comments )transmissions.

If I can get ahold of an r32 transmission soon, I'll give it a test fit and see what needs to be done to make it work.

I think you are correct Itsamoto.  An eng/trans adapter plate could be used to get the correct orientation plane for the prop shaft output.

Very cool. So is it "new" as in you just bought this, or "new" as in you just converted it?

Hey does anyone know where to order the underbelly rockguards ( unterfahrschutz ) for a t4 syncro?   I called this company and they said they will reproduce their rockguard kit if they receive emails from 25 people who will buy.   http://www.extrem-fahrzeugtechnik.de/fahrzeuge/vw-bus-t4/

I would contact these guys:
http://www.dasmule.com/protection/

When I spoke to them over 6 months ago, they said they were doing some Eurovan work as well.
