Title: 2002 EV - Oil pressure alarm issue

Hi, I'm new to this forum and hoping to get some direction with an oil pressure alarm issue I am having.
After engine is warm and RPMs go between 1700 - 1800 I get the alarm beeping and dash light. When I give it gas and RPMs go above 1800 the alarm goes away. Everything otherwise is good - no noises or temperature increase.

I'm no mechanic so take this for what it is worth.  First I would check the dip stick and top off if necessary.  Then I would check to see if there is any codes listed with the OBDII.  If no codes I would change the oil & filter.  If still has an oil pressure alarm I would check/replace the oil pressure sending unit.  I'm sure others will comment with better ideas.

Thanks, I have changed the oil and filter. Used Motul 5/40 oil and OEM filter.
My next step was to change the sensor and I have picked one up at the dealer, but not sure if I need a special tool to remove the wire connector?

First Dx step should be to hook up a mech oil pressure gauge and see what the pressure is btwn 1700-1800 rpm. Verify that it is within the spec outlined in the Bentley before throwing parts at it.

Thanks Justin, yes, that makes perfect sense. The problem I am having is finding a shop that knows this vehicle. I just moved here, (Clearwater, Fl) from Boston and I'm finding it difficult to find a EV mechanic here.

Would like to let everyone know that I have replaced the oil pressure sensor and my oil light alarm issue has gone away.

Thanks for the update.  It's always comforting when it is a small issue.  Before I purchased my EVC, no one told me (although I suspected) that it would be a high maintenance relationship.

I had the same issue with my 2003 Rialta VR6. We were halfway home on a 3800km trip. Light came on and the engine wasn't making any top end noise so We pushed on. Made it home. Turned out to be the oil pressure sensor leaking internally. Talk about a stressful trip home!! LOL! Glad you got it sorted.

Yes the ev is expensive, high maintenance, and fun to ride. Mmmm kinda reminds me of my old lady. :)
