No worries, I won't have the upper ball joint tool for a week anyway.

When you do this, can you document the process? I'd love to see it as I may be doing the same soon.

Interior! / General electrical issues . . . Where to start
« on: February 19, 2016, 08:18:41 am »
I'm not much of  car guy.  Installing roof racks, and maybe new speakers comes close to my limit of expertise. However my 2002 EV (Bluwale) has a few nasty little electrical issues I'd like to start fixing up.
  • Horn doesn't work
  • Power mirrors don't work
  • Heated seats don't work
None of these are obviously huge issues so I've neglected to fix them.  I'm wondering if there is a good place to start with respect to fixing them? Might the issues be related?

I'm still trying to figure out new wheels.  I'd like to do BF goodrich AT KO2's on a reasonable size wheel.  Once I figure it out I'll pickup a set and have them put on.   I'm tempted to try to put the tires on my stock wheels, but I can't quite figure out the exactly what I'll need to do (spacers, and torsion bars wise).

Have anyone tried them? Any real advantage over the Bilstiens?

And the answer is . . . . I'm a little dumb.  Turns out you have to 1/2 press the gear shift lever to engage the lower gears.  :o

Exterior / Re: Which awning to get for EVC?

Yes the ARB required hard mounting of two brackets to the van (done by PO). And although it doesn't have the nice hand crack -- the ARB awning is very light and the you can get a matching tent surround to go along with it. So its got a lot of potential for upgrading -- and I think good value for an awning.

And while we're at it, what kind of tires/wheels/spacers/lift etc. are you running on your red van.  It looks great and I'd I'd like to do something similar.

Strange question. Last year I swapped out the transmission.  The van was worked great since, but . . .I no longer have low?  I can't put it in 1 or 2?  The only gears I have are PNRD.  No low?  Any thoughts on why this might be?
