Tires and wheels! / Mercedes CLK Wheels?
« on: September 25, 2017, 02:12:49 pm »
~2000 Mercedes CLK wheels are popular on Vanagons. I'm curious what they would look like on Eurovans. Particularly short nose. Anyone have any pictures with CLK wheels on a Eurovan? This is a picture of a Vanagon with CLK wheels just clarify what I'm talking of. Specs are 16X7, et 37

Interior! / All seats heated seats?
« on: December 05, 2016, 01:46:26 pm »
On our '99 we had a rough spot right in the lower center of the seat back that bothered me. It is below the cover so this weekend I took the cover off and found what look like seat heater pads. Our van doesn't have any controls for seat heaters. I'm wondering if seat heater pads were put in all seats and then controls added to just the vans spec'd with them? Anyone else find seat heaters in their seats?

Want to buy something? / Long Nose Lower Grille
« on: February 08, 2016, 09:35:39 am »
I need a lower grille for a '99 I'm working on. I have circled the piece in the attached picture. That is not a picture of the one I'm actually working on, just a picture I had available that clearly shows the piece. I don't have or need one with holes for the headlight sprays. Thanks!

Interior! / Driver's window won't go up
« on: January 14, 2016, 06:45:30 pm »
The driver's window on our '99 will go up, get tight, and go back down. It's rocking forward in the channel and not going straight up. I got it up through a lot of playing with the switch and manually pulling the window back once in a while.

Anyone had this issue and know what's going on? New regulator time? I can't remember if there are other wear items in there or not. I'd rather have the parts on hand to fix it when I take the panel off if possible so I thought it was worth an ask. Thanks in advance!

Shiny things you no longer want / 12v VR6
« on: January 07, 2016, 11:12:04 am »
I have a '99 Eurovan that is going diesel. I don't need the VR6. It's still in the van so you can hear it run. Located in Lebanon, OR.  $800 Thanks!

Share your adventures! / Trip to Glacier National Park
« on: September 25, 2015, 01:02:18 pm »
We just got back from a trip to Glacier National Park (from Oregon). We had a good time. I only have one picture right now of the Eurovan in front of Lake McDonald. I'll try to add a few more pictures shortly.

I added a roof rack and shower to the van for the trip. Thanks to Lugboot for posting his shower idea and Cole (and many others) for posting helpful hints on the track install!

Shiny things you no longer want / Short Nose Eurovan Bra
« on: August 20, 2015, 10:38:04 am »
I bought a bunch of parts. In that pile is a Colgan bra for a 96 and down Eurovan without fog lights. It's in great shape (I can get a picture later). My vans are late, long noses. I don't have a use for this. $20 plus shipping. Thanks!

Interior! / Heater is blowing foam
« on: August 12, 2015, 12:47:42 pm »
Well, my heater is blowing foam out the vents. I've seen a couple "how to" pages online to fix this problem. This one is probably the best: http://1705.net/archives/1085. I believe the person who wrote it up is even on here. I was going to do a basic copy/paste on our van. I started by ordering up the foam from McMaster Carr but when I saw the total I hesitated. A little over $200 in FOAM!

I'm looking for a little feedback from those that have been there/done that. Some of the other write ups suggest an aluminum tape. How's that holding up? How about the originator of the 1705 post, how's that foam holding up? I don't mind paying if that's the best option. I just want to look at my options first. If there is a cheaper, quality way to do it, I'm all ears. However, I rather pay $200, than do it again next year.  ;D

Tires and wheels! / Spare Tire Upgrade
« on: July 07, 2015, 05:54:06 pm »
This is probably an unusual upgrade but someone may benefit from this information. I have a '99 that came with 15" wheels. I upgraded to 16" wheels and larger (01-03) brakes. However, I still had a 15" spare until recently. The 15" wheel wouldn't clear the larger brakes so if I had a flat on the front, I would have had to swap around wheels until I could use the spare in the rear. Luckily, that didn't ever happen.

Recently I found an 01-03 getting parted out. I took all the spare tire stuff hoping that it would fit my '99. I found that it was really easy to do. The spare tire "tray" and the spacers/fasteners at the rear are needed but that's it. They fit just like factory. It was quite easy and I'm glad to not have to worry about the tire swapping I'd need to do if I got a front flat. :-)
