Exterior / Re: Which awning to get for EVC?

I walk by this Eurovan all the time. I'm not sure what the brand of awning is but I think it's Fiamma. I love what they did with the awning by painting the housing. It really makes it disappear and not look quite so "added on".
I'm not sure how easy it would be to spray the housing with out also getting the fabric though.......

Love it! Very nice setup. I really like that rear rack. That is a new option/idea to me.

On the rear speakers, the grille snaps into the factory speaker frame.

I have not done it, but the only way I can see to put a replacement speaker in there is to cut the factory speaker out of the frame and mount a new speaker in that frame if you want to keep the factory grille. Not impossible at all but a little "tricky" is probably a good description. :-)

I swapped in a TDI from a '97 Passat. Went to manual transmission at the same time.

We didn't have any problems but I didn't like driving around with a timebomb transmission AND I just plain like manuals better. The VR6 was nice though, if we could have went manual I probably would have done that. Less work for sure and I'd still get to shift! The impossible part for me was finding the parts to do it.

This is going to be good. :-) Mine would probably still be VR6 (it's TDI now) if I could have found a good solution for the transmission! I'm excited to watch this.

I can help with that if you don't already have a printer lined up. :-)

Ah! I had assumed that "headliner" came off once the aluminum trim around the outside was removed. Thanks for helping me understand it better. At least your spacing looks consistent and it doesn't look that bad. I've seen pictures where they are like 18", then 24", and then finishing with a 20" spacing.......... or something like that. It made my OCD go crazy, even in just a picture! :-)

I've kicked around this idea off and on. One thing that I don't like is seeing the nuts on the "headliner". I've never seen it in person so maybe it's not that big of a deal. However, could the headlinder be dropped and t-nuts or somethings used so that it wouldn't be seen from the inside?

A couple pics of our side tent the first time I set it up next to our van (Reimo Nizza 2).

I'm excited! I was thinking of creating something similar, but just had not gotten around to it yet. Now I don't have to! I hope this really takes off. Thanks Cole!
