VR6 Engine tech / AC lines
« on: March 11, 2018, 01:00:42 pm »
Hello all,

Anyone have a good solution for replacing a leaky low-pressure AC line on a 1999 Eurovan?  I'm told VW no longer makes that part, but I'm thinking someone must have run across this problem before.  As always, any advice is appreciated.

Winnebago "Full Campers" / Daytime Running Lights
« on: November 27, 2016, 04:29:25 pm »
Recently upgraded from our 1995 to a 1999, but I can't figure out how to disable the daytime running lights.  I've seen some posts about pulling a relay marked "94", but I don't see that one.  They don't turn off with the parking brake.  They're on as long as the engine is running.  Has anyone solved this problem?

Thanks,
John

Inline 5cyl Petrol engine tech / New engine
« on: January 27, 2016, 07:26:56 pm »
Hello all,
Been away for awhile due to some on-the-road problems, which is why I'm writing now. Anyone have any good leads on where to find a new or good used 2.5l 5-cylinder engine?  Or where I might go, and expect to pay, to rebuild mine?  It seems if I want to get back on the road where I belong, those are my only options.
Thanks for any advice.

Inline 5cyl Petrol engine tech / Resetting the ECU
« on: August 04, 2015, 08:29:42 pm »
Hello all --
Pulled my ECU the other day and shipped it off to be repaired after my mechanic said it was showing a MAP sensor fault. The good news is that it tested fine, didn't need to be repaired and my '95 Eurovan so far seems to be running fine -- not showing any of the symptoms it showed before.  The bad news is the CEL is on constantly, beginning just a few seconds after starting. Tried to reset it by disconnecting the battery and touching the battery cables, but the CEL came on again just as before.

Rather than go through the hassle of getting the codes read again, I'd prefer to reset the CEL and see if it reappears.  Any ideas on how to do that without tracking down a scanner?  Any other thoughts?  Thanks.
